Mr. Martin Doblmeier, Film Maker and Producer

President and founder of Journey Films, Mr. Martin Doblmeier spoke to Montrose students, parents, faculty, alumnae and friends about his work and the theme of forgiveness. Mr. Doblmeier’s evening presentation included a showing of his documentary, The Power of Forgiveness.

Since 1983, Mr. Doblmeier has produced and directed more than twenty-five award-winning films, including The Power of Forgiveness, a documentary that won the Sun Valley Film Festival Best Film Award and the Silver Screen Award from the International Film and Video Festival. Over the years Mr. Doblmeier has traveled on location to more than forty countries to profile numerous religious leaders, heads of state and Nobel Laureates. His films examine how belief can lead individuals to extraordinary actions, how spirituality creates and sustains communities and how faith is lived out in the most challenging times.

Montrose launched the Life Portraits Speaker Series in the fall of 2008 to complement its character education program. This series provides students, faculty, parents and friends with an opportunity to learn from inspiring individuals who live their gifts of faith, character and vision.
