ADMISSIONS
CHECKLIST
Applicants
need submit an application, transcripts and three letters of recommendation
as well as take an entrance examination (ISEE or SSAT). A student
day visit and parent interview is required, so please email or
call the Admissions Office (508.359.2423 x315) to schedule an
appointment.
1.
Application fee and deadlines: The completed application
and $50 US/$100 international application fee is due before or
by February 1st.

Student day visit and interview: Each applicant
must spend a day at Montrose when school is in session. She will
attend classes with a current student, participate in student
activities, and interview with the an Admissions officer. The
day visit is an opportunity for the applicant to experience Montrose
student life and for the Admissions Office to gather necessary
information for the application process. This visit is a requirement.

Entrance exam: For students entering grades 6-8, the ISEE test is
required, and is given at various test site locations as well as at Montrose
in the fall. Sign up at www.iseetest.org Montrose School Code for ISEE is
220454. For grades 9-12 register and sign up for the SSAT at
www.ssat.org Montrose School Code for SSAT code is 5150. If you
would like to request a test fee waiver, please contact Deborah
Convery in the Admissions Office.
4. Transcript release form: Parents must complete
the top portion of the form before submitting it along with the
Principal Recommendation to the applicant’s current school
principal. This form allows the applicant’s school to send
the current and last two years of grades, standardized test scores
and any other relevant educational test scores directly to Montrose.
5.
English and math recommendation forms should
be given to persons currently teaching the applicant or who have
had the most recent association with the applicant in a school
environment.

Non-academic recommendation form should be completed
by a person closely associated with the applicant in an environment
outside of her current school environment (ex. coach, family friend,
priest or tutor).
7.
Parent interview: Parents must schedule an interview
with an Admissions officer.
After
an applicant has demonstrated her academic preparedness for Montrose
School’s college preparatory curriculum, the Admissions
Committee reviews additional criteria for acceptance. These include
her genuine desire to attend Montrose, her ability to make a positive
contribution to the school, and her parents’ commitment
to working with the school to support her academic and character
development.
Applicants
are granted admission without consideration for the request for
financial aid. Montrose School provides financial assistance in
the form of tuition and merit scholarships. Applications for financial
aid are available upon request; notification of assistance is
sent following a candidate’s acceptance. All financial assistance
applications must be submitted to SMART Tuition.
Upon
acceptance, a deposit of $1,000 is required to reserve a place
in the class for the next academic year. This deposit is non-refundable
and is applicable toward tuition. Payment plan options for the
remainder of tuition and fees are available. Payment plans are
offered on an annual, semi-annual, and monthly basis for US applicants.
International applicants must pay on an annual or semi-annual
basis.
