Amid National Poetry Month and Shakespeare's 400th anniversary, Montrose hosts a London-based bard.
Amid National Poetry Month, Montrose School's International Week and the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare's death, Montrose is hosting a London-based bard for a week.
Sarah de Nordwall, Montrose's bard in residence, is a performance poet and bard who has delighted audiences from the House of Lords to children and university students, performing across the U.S., Canada and the UK.
During her week in residence, Ms. de Nordwall is working with girls across different grades. She has performed her poetry at Common Homeroom and in class meetings. Ms. de Nordwall will continue to meet with groups of girls, reading her poetry, asking the girls to respond to poems, working with them as they write their own poems, and coaching each girl to find her own voice.
Ms. de Nordwall is the author, most recently, of 50Poemsformy50th—ABeginner'sGuidetoOpeningtheWorldwithWords, and has written and recorded PoetryOpenstheWorld, TheLifestyleStore and TheUniverseWasNotatHome. Read more about her and her work at www.sarahdenordwall.com.
All are invited to see Montrose's bard in residence perform her poetry at the International Festival Friday night at 6:45 PM.
