National History Day Success
Montrose students saw widespread success on March 4 at the District Competition of National History Day at Foxboro High School. Twelve girls received awards, with eight advancing to the state-level competition.
“Montrose School was brilliantly represented,” said history teacher Kristine Forsgard, who organized Montrose’s entries into the competition. “The judges praised all our students for their thoughtful projects and their insightful interviews. We congratulate everyone who participated and thank you for representing yourselves, your families and our school so well.”
National History Day is a nationwide contest in which students could produce a project about anyone in history who relates to this year’s theme, Taking a Stand in History. Students could compete individually or in small groups, in any of five divisions: exhibit, documentary, live performance, website or research paper. Five hundred students competed from schools throughout Massachusetts. “The competition was intense,” said Mrs. Forsgard.
