ADMISSIONS: Tuition and Financial Assistance

Tuition and Fees

Tuition for the 2008-2009 school year is $15,600 (includes activity fee); uniforms cost approximately $350 and textbooks cost approximately $350. A deposit of $1000, applicable towards tuition, is required to reserve a place in class for the next academic year. The remainder of the tuition and fees are paid annually, biannually, quarterly or monthly over a 10-month period. For families with more than one student at Montrose, we offer a sibling discount.

International Students: Tuition for international students for the 2008-2009 school year is $19,500 (includes activity fee); uniforms cost approximately $350 and textbooks cost approximately $350. The payment for room and board is $7,500 for the full stay (10 months). This is paid to Montrose who then pays the host family. Payment of fees is on an annual basis; a $5,000 deposit is due upon acceptance.

Financial Assistance

Montrose makes a strong commitment to ensuring that no student is denied a place simply due to her family's financial means. Students and their families are encouraged to apply for admission regardless of their family's ability to meet the full cost of attendance. Last year, about 30% of students received financial assistance. Montrose awards financial aid only to those qualified applicants who exhibit demonstrated financial need.

Determination of financial need occurs after admissions decisions have been made. Due to the constraints of the financial aid budget, some admitted students may be denied financial assistance or placed on a financial aid waiting list.
