EDUCATING THE WHOLE PERSON

What it means to educate the whole person:
The essence of Montrose School

At Montrose we believe that the best education develops the whole person: it integrates academic excellence with personal character development. We further believe that education is the primary responsibility of parents, supported by professional educators committed to academic excellence. Montrose seeks to help students become well-educated, free and responsible women of Christian ideals.

In short we help young women to become leaders of faith, character, and vision. Every aspect of school life provides an occasion to nurture the education of the whole person, including our
• rigorous and engaging liberal arts curriculum
• outstanding faculty and staff
• collaboration with parents
• personal advising program
• opportunities for spiritual growth
• ethic of service and community outreach
• family atmosphere and traditions
• effort to do ordinary things extraordinarily well for the love of God
• athletics program
• fine arts and performing arts programs
• student government, student led clubs and activities
• travel abroad experiences
• behavioral expectations and school policies
• public programs and events

Montrose remains a leader in its mission to educate the whole person. In 1999 the school was awarded the prestigious distinction of National School of Character.
