More National Merit Honors

Montrose has 2 National Merit Semifinalists, 3 Commended Students and 2 National Hispanic Scholars.
Three Montrose School seniors have been honored as National Merit Commended Students in the National Merit Scholarship Program. Anneka Ignatius ‘18, Elizabeth Ling ‘18 and Yvonne Niebuhr ‘18 are among only 34,000 students nationwide receiving this honor, placing them within the top five percent of U.S. high school seniors nationwide.

Previously, Gabby Landry ‘18 and Anne Miklus ‘18 had been named as National Merit Semifinalists. They were among only 16,000 students receiving this honor, less than one percent of those who took the qualifying test.

More than 1.6 million high school students entered the National Merit Scholarship Program competition by taking the 2016 PSAT/NMSQT. These Montrose students are among the highest scoring in the nation.

In addition, Yvonne and Gabby have been named as National Hispanic Scholars. They are among only 5,000 National Hispanic Scholars from a pool of 250,000 Hispanic or Latino students nationwide who took the qualifying test.
