State Track Success

Montrose middle school runners dominate at the Division 3 Middle School State Championships.
Tess Farr '22 finished first in the state for Division 3 in the 400 meter race, setting a new school record, and Kasey Corra '22 finished second in the state in the 800 meter.

Between 80 and 120 qualified athletes competed in each event. Montrose runners received an outstanding five medals total and finished eighth as a team in Division 3, while sending only four athletes to compete. Many schools sent more than twenty athletes.

Other Montrose milestones included Tess finishing eigthth in the state in hurdles, Kasey finishing eighth in the state in the mile, Maureen Koenen '23 placing fifth in the state in the 400 meter and Meredith Ehrenzeller '24 setting a new personal record in the hurdles after qualifying as a 6th grader.
