Rising 9th graders are invited to apply to be a member of the Red Key Club – one of the most rewarding and impactful roles on campus. Sign up today to give tours and support admission events. Here is what will be expected of members:

• Participate in one of the training sessions that will be offered in September. You will be notified of these dates in late August. 
• Attend Red Key meetings every other week during Upper School lunch.
• Respond within 24 hours when you receive a request for a tour or other event.
• Commit to being available for at least two tours per month. During peak admission season, you may be called upon to give tours more frequently.
• Volunteer at Open House, Curriculum Night, Acceptance Package Delivery Day and Admitted Students Night.
• Represent Montrose School with enthusiasm and positivity!

Student Life is excited to announce the next Montrose Leadership Summit on Wednesday, August 26 from 12:00–2:00 PM in the Student Commons.

• The Summit is open to all current and incoming students, especially club leaders, team captains, and anyone interested in building leadership skills. 
• This event will not conflict with afternoon sports tryouts.
• No prior attendance is required, and all Mavericks are welcome.

The fall sports dates are as follows:

• Varsity sports tryouts will be held August 24-27, between 2:00 PM and 6:00 PM
• JV tryouts and the first week of Varsity practices will be held August 31-September 3, between 2:00 PM and 6:00 PM, sport dependent. 
• Middle school sports will begin the first week of school, with initial interest meetings on the first day of school, Wednesday, September 9.

Rising 8-12th graders are invited to create a National History Day project through a new co-curricular, the NHD Club.

Who should consider this club?

• a student who would like to showcase her interests through a research project
• a student who wants to develop highly-refined research skills
• a student who is looking for broader recognition for her academic gifts

The NHD Club will meet weekly during one of the Student Life blocks in the school day, giving members a long stretch of time to craft an expert project. Club advisors will accompany students through each step in the research process. NHD offers five different ways to showcase projects. Research papers are individual, but the other categories offer group or individual options: museum display, documentary, website, or performance. Those interested in pursuing this extra research project can get a jump start this summer, and faculty advisors are available to help.

The 2027 NHD Theme of the Year is exciting: Innovation in History: Impact, Influence, Change. It’s a great topic for students interested in both Humanities and STEM studies. Know that colleges value in-depth research and recognition opportunities as well.

• If you’d like to participate, now is the time to think of a topic, and this summer you can read some books on your topic. Chat with your parents and email us before you pin a topic. Remember the not-too-recent rule: You want enough primary and secondary research materials on your topic, so too-recent topics may be harder to investigate.

Save the date for the 5th Annual Fr. Dick Golf Classic on Monday, September 14 at Blue Hill Country Club! Join us for a memorable day honoring our Founding Chaplain, Fr. Dick Rieman, while supporting Fr. Dick's Angel Fund, which provides tuition assistance to students with financial need. 

Registration and sponsorship opportunities open July 1, but there are already ways to get involved. Reserve your interest through pre-registration or contribute a silent auction item, such as a vacation home stay, event tickets, a unique experience, or a specialty item. We look forward to celebrating this milestone year with you on the course!
