a renewed Campus

In the fall of 2026, Montrose School will complete our Campus Renewal Project — a significant investment in our campus athletic fields, bridges and walkways, and surrounding wetlands.

This project represents what the world needs now more than ever — an education that intentionally cultivates the deeply human qualities of reflection and inquiry that will improve the common good.

In a distracted world, Montrose forms young women capable of attention, wisdom, leadership, and faith. Our renewed campus is the setting where that formation takes place.

Two new turf fields

A Montrose education forms the whole person, including teamwork, discipline, competition, and physical excellence alongside intellectual and spiritual growth. Our girls learn that a sound mind and a sound body are both expressions of the same pursuit of excellence. Our two new regulation-sized turf fields boast a cork fill to support the natural surroundings.

Mentoring Walkway

Aristotle taught by walking the covered paths of his school in Athens, and his students were called the Peripatetics, "those who walk about." The Mentoring Path revives that tradition. Here, a student can walk side by side in conversation with her mentor, as they work together to help her grow into the best version of herself.

Three New Pond Bridges

Carrying girls across Vine Brook and the campus wetlands, the bridges also represent the connections between disciplines, and the journey from our welcoming handshake line to the final procession on Commencement day.  The bridges are made of weathering steel to reflect the site's industrial history, and share the same architectural language to connect the Vine Brook waterway across the entire campus.

The Grove & The Retreat

The Grove is a small wooded sanctuary home to a marble statue of Our Lady, Sedes Sapientiae (Seat of Wisdom), where visitors are welcome to rest, reflect and pray. The Retreat is a space set apart for integrated, interdisciplinary work, where a girl might sketch the wetlands she has just studied as a botanist. The Orator’s Disc is a dedicated space to practice the art of rhetoric, from Shakespearean monologues to classical debates.

Pond Platform

The Pond Platform extends out over the water, placing our girls directly within the ecosystem they study. From here, students observe the campus wetlands as naturalists once did, taking in the wide scope of nature’s beauty. The Pond Platform links the campus wetlands with our curriculum, fulfilling the mission of the nearby Arts & Environment Building.

Restored Wetlands

Our campus is in the heart of historic downtown Medfield. Our priority is to steward our campus in ways that will serve the common good. The Campus Renewal Project will benefit both the School and the town, as we restore the wetlands, replacing almost 15,000 square feet of invasive species with native plantings.
