A UNIQUE PARTNERSHIP WITH PARENTS

At Montrose, we respect parents as the first and most important educators of your daughter, and we partner with you to help your daughter become the best version of herself. In support of this partnership, we provide parents with a variety of expert resources, faith enrichment opportunities and social events.

Parents are invited to be active partners with mentors and teachers.

We encourage parents to help their daughters take ownership of learning, and to contact your daughter's teachers directly with academic questions and consult with mentors as needed. At the same time, we aim to work in collaboration with you to support your daughter’s growth and maturity.

Parents consult with mentors in the beginning of the year to share a vision of your daughter and input into the goals that she will be working toward academically and personally throughout the year. Parents will conference with mentors twice during the year and are encouraged to be in communication throughout the year regarding your daughter’s progress.

PARENT ENRICHMENT

In support of your role as primary educators, we offer parent enrichment including parent workshops and coffees, the LifeCompass Speaker Series, blog posts, faith formation opportunities, and educational resources.

Recent offerings include:
  • Three workshops on “Getting More from Middle School” annually
  • Workshops for upper school parents on topics like "Practical Wisdom Tips for Navigating 9th grade"
  • Parent coffees throughout the year with the Director of Wellness & Formation and other administrators
  • Weekly Middle School Newsletter curated especially for parents, giving a window into your daughter’s week as well as parenting tips to navigate this season of your daughter’s development
  • Quarterly Montrose Parent Guild (MPG) meetings featuring speakers on topics of interest to parents

“Parents essentially receive a PhD in parenting when they join the Montrose community.”— Katie Elrod, Head of School
