Leadership with Service

Juniors and seniors spend spring break serving orphan children in Kingston, Jamaica.
On the service trip, the 14 students and trip chaperones Julie Ruggieri and Mary Aidan Hanrahan served at several Mustard Seed Communities, including a teen pregnancy crisis center and homes for children with Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, autism, deafness and HIV/AIDS.

"The trip really opened our hearts to the simplicity of selflessness," said trip chaperone Julie Ruggieri. "It also showed the heart of who Christ is through the residents. I think one of the biggest things we learned is how important it is to find the ability in disability and to treat each resident with dignity. It was amazing to see our girls grow through their interactions with the residents and the incredible Mustard Seed community."

"We are so grateful to the Montrose community for all the donations and prayers in support of our service trip," she added.
