Congratulations Class of 2022!

Faculty, families, friends and the entire student body celebrate the graduates.
According to Montrose tradition, Head of School Katie Elrod spoke personally about each graduate, relating anecdotes that revealed each girl’s strengths, accomplishments and character. The graduates, dressed in white and carrying red roses, cheered one another as each classmate rose to receive her diploma.

Emily Morgan Welch '10 was the Commencement speaker. Emily is an Attorney Advisor for the U.S. Department of Justice, Executive Office for Immigration Review. In her role at the Justice Department, she drafts opinions for immigration judges and works to resolve legal issues surrounding immigrants and refugees seeking asylum under the immigration and nationality laws. She also serves as a mentor to new attorneys.

"Your path forward may lead you to destinations you did not expect, but we Montrosians know that greatness is the pursuit, and not an endpoint," Emily told the graduates.

Tess Farr '22 delivered the valedictory address:
Conviction played a central role in the Capstone class for all of us. Conviction urged people to dedicate lengthy projects to topics ranging from absent fathers to racial disparities in mass incarceration. That same conviction will drive us to make the “Now what” – the proposed solutions – of each respective capstone a reality. One might even say that this conviction calls us to greatness.

The 28 members of the Class of 2022 were admitted to a wide variety of excellent institutions.

Congratulations and good luck to the Class of 2022!
