Annie Conway '09 participated in MIT's Women In Technology Program , June 28 – July 26. Rising high school seniors from all over the country attend this program after a highly selective application process. Participants live at MIT in McCormick Hall; Annie had two roommates: one from California and one from New York City (born in China ). “I made friends from all over the country!” Annie recounted about the experience. The Women in Technology Program gives students an opportunity to take classes that they would not otherwise be offered in high school, such as electrical engineering, computer science and discreet math. It is a program that encourages women to explore their interests in science and technology and open their minds and eyes to the various careers and opportunities in these fields. “ Ms. Vatz and Ms. Osborne encouraged me to apply. Ms. Belcher helped with the essays. I loved the experience and hope to pursue the avenues that were opened up to me during this program. Danielle Yuen '07 and Claudia Lau '08 also participated in the MIT Women in Technology Program during the summer preceding their senior years.” – Annie Conway ‘09
