Elegance, Etiquette at the Winter Ball

Inspired by Little Women, 8th graders hosted an evening of dinner and dancing.
On February 4, the eighth-grade class participated in an evening of elegance and etiquette at the Winter Ball. The event was organized by a group of students who, inspired by their study of Little Women in 7th grade, wanted to host an event that was both educational, fun and in the style of mid-19th century America. Dressed in period costumes, students shared a multi-course meal during which they learned important etiquette lessons from English and geography teacher Ms. Kate Cusack '99. The meal was followed by a dramatic and musical talent show, and the evening concluded with mid-19th century music and dancing. It was a lovely night for all, and the students hope that the Winter Ball may be a tradition shared by future eighth-grade classes.
