Unique to Montrose: Middle School

The Montrose middle school program offers girls a unique blend of academics and the development of intellectual and character virtues that prepares them for upper school.

Signature Academic Programs

Laying the Groundwork. Strengthening the Foundation. Building the Bridge.

In the middle school, girls develop curiosity, tenacity and intellectual carefulness. They research problems, brainstorm solutions, create prototypes, test and revise.
Small classes averaging 15 encourage a high level of rapport between students and teachers. Our middle school faculty know how to tap and channel the intellectual energy and passion of middle school girls.

During the middle school years, students gradually take ownership of their learning. They grow in self-knowledge, build and value friendships, and come to understand their responsibility to each other as well as to the wider community.

Our middle school curriculum sets girls up for success in our rigorous upper school college preparatory, honors and AP courses, while a wide variety of cocurricular activities allows them to explore and develop interests.
