Middle schoolers win story contest

The Young Writers' Foundation honors original stories by 3 7th grade students.
Gillian Murray '23 and Julie Baker '23 were both honored as winners of the Young Writers' "Spinechillers" story contest, in which they were challenged to write a short story that creates suspense, tension or atmosphere. The stories by Gillian and Julie will be published in the Young Writers compilation, Spine Chillers: Tales from the Bay State, and are in contention for the contest's grand prize. More than 4,500 submissions were entered in the contest.

Sophia Corrigan '23 was honored as a winner in the Young Writers' poetry competition, "The Poetry Games." To enter the competition, contestants read poetry for ideas and inspiration and learned poetic techniques, before submitting an original poem.
